چکیده
Abstract Wastewater treatment plants produce hundreds of million tons sewage sludge every year all over the world. Vermicomposting is well established worldwide and has been successful at processing sludge, which can contribute to alleviate severe environmental problems caused by its disposal. Here, we utilized 16S ITS rRNA high-throughput sequencing characterize bacterial fungal community composition structure during gut- cast-associated processes (GAP CAP, respectively) vermicomposting sludge. Bacterial communities earthworm casts were mainly composed microbial taxa not found in sludge; thus most (96%) (91%) eliminated vermicomposting, through GAP. Upon completion GAP modified undergo a succession process leading more diverse microbiotas than those Consequently, changed significantly vermicomposting. resulted stable rich with potential biostimulant properties that may aid plant growth. Our results support use vermicompost derived from for sustainable agricultural practices, if heavy metals or other pollutants are under legislation limits adequately treated.

Stability and Kinetic Analysis during Vermicomposting of Sewage Sludge
The present study is aimed at alteration of sewage sludge into stable compost product using vermicomposting of sewage sludge mixed with cattle manure and saw dust in five different proportions based on C/N ratios (C/N 15 (R1), 20 (R2), 25 (R3) and 30 (R4); and control (R5)) by employing an epigeic earthworm Eisenia fetida. Higher reductions in C/N ratio, CO2 evolution and OUR were observed in R...

Aims of the Study: The aim of this study was to determine the amount of lignin degradation and biodegradation of organic matter and change of biomass under compost and vermicomposting of sewage sludge. Materials & Methods: Sawdust was added to sewage sludge at 1:3 weight bases to Carbon to Nitrogen ratio of 25:1 for composting or vermicomposting. Lignin and volatile solids were deter...

A review is presented summarizing the global state-of-the-art, including the gist of the studies conducted by the authors, on vermicomposting. Studies on the impact of vermicast on plant growth are also reviewed. The paper brings out the suitability or otherwise of different species of earthworms to ‘bioprocess’ different types of organic waste. The paper also presents the gist of the studies–w...

The sugar cane industry produces significant amounts of cane trash and bagasse. Inappropriate disposal of agro-wastes can lead to environmental problems. Converting wastes such as cane trash and bagasse (Bg) to a fertilizer and conditioner is the aim of sustainable waste management in sugar cane industry. Cow dung (CD), kitchen waste (KW), and sewage sludge (SS) were mixed with bagasse as amend...
